Apepe

My thighs are dead, but I'm feeling good.

Today was a fairly cardio-oriented class, and it was pretty damn physically demanding. We danced in the big room (which isn't usually ours but for some reason Hikianalia got it) and while I didn't see the Argo girls, I had a bit more time with another woman that I have absolutely no idea how to name yet, but I will, eventually.

She had no idea where to park her car. Myself, I parked at the hospital, and when I went home I found out I wasn't the only one who had the idea.

There were women I had never seen before, and I just learned their names, but I don't otherwise know them. One of them has a massive Chinese fan lol. If she ever becomes relevant, I will give her a Chinese name.

I'm starting to ease better into it. It comes relatively fast, I've found. The first class was delicate but this one, once I'm into it, it's just... fine. I do make beginner mistakes, but I find that I have less issues getting certain movements, and I actually love doing cardio. It's one of the training types I like best, because the damn thing pushes you so hard you don't think at all.

That said... damn I gotta ask Hikianalia for her playlist sometime because there's always one or more songs I want to Shazam. Lmao.

I had this song on during the whole ride home. I got acquainted with it when I was at the recital back in June, but it's only now, oddly enough, that I get into it.

I think I've started sailing... with Hikianalia as my guiding star.

The master of sailing was mending up his sails,
The topsail, the gaff-top
The large jib, the small jib
In anticipation of a tailwind

In a crosswind, the seams will be strained;
The wind will fill up the foresail made of pe'ue...

In anticipation of a tailwind
In anticipation of a crosswind,
He will be ready

May the maoae breeze glide across the surface,
May the bow splash through the waves.
May the va'a, sewn from coconut fibre,
Glide majestically across the water.

The master of sailing used to mend his sails in days gone by...
