Surprise of the day, Manu accepted my friend request on the 'book. I had found her profile and hesitated for a long while to send a friend request. It honestly takes me so much to do it because I feel I'm intruding into people's spaces.
Manu's profile, in addition, is locked, just like that of her husband.
It had been so long that I thought she had forgotten about me, plus my profile picture wasn't exactly showing my face at the time. I could not show my face when I was in the thick of what happened with my Hopoe. It was terrible
Went out for grocery shopping, and when I came back... hey Manu! Accepted into the friend circle, yeehee.
Maybe people's thresholds to "friends" or at least "good enough acquaintances that I can allow you to have a window into my life" is not that high. But still, I have this weird as shit reserve to make the first move. I can't imagine people remember me. I can't imagine that I am any significant, even in a small and acquaintancely way, in people's minds once I exit the room.
The other fun thing is that Manu and I were born nearly exactly three years apart. Her birthday is two days after mine, hehe. Between Capella born the day after me and Manu on the day after Capella... it seems I have a knack for attracting fellow late-November Sagittarians like me.
Perhaps I should map my connections a little more, then. Perhaps ask Lehuakona... Nalani, I'm not sure, but Lehuakona, why not? Vaima, the nice shopkeeper at the festival, doesn't appear to have a FB profile properly speaking, but the festival organizer, who gifted me a little something after the tamure marathon, might be fair game.
I'm still goddamn shy about fucking social media. It shouldn't be that serious, right. But I really am hugely hung-up on this shit for reasons that are not that legitimate. Hell I'm still shy about adding Hikianalia and yet she's got a few of my fellow students in her Facebook friends.
Maybe... maybe in a month or two, for her, mhh. Better this way.
Anyway Manu. Welcome back into my name directory of this period, since you've manifested yourself. I have no idea if I'll come across you again at a festival, though I'd love to re-attend this one next year. But if you pass by the south with the husband and the tot (and the one you're expecting!), feel totally free to catch up!
